Fans of the extremely popular cult classic, Afro Samurai, may remember the video game that span off the anime straight onto the PS3 and Xbox 360.
While it received mixed reviews, I personally had a blast fighting my way through hordes of ninjas and counting how many toes I'd cut of each of them to grab a rather unique achievement.
6 years on and we're finally getting a much deserved sequel for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Originally developed by Namco Bandai, senior producer David Robson left the studio to form his own small team in the shape of Redacted Studios. Robsons new home currently holds the rights to the franchise and are working hard on the sequel.
Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kumal, will be loosely based on the Afro Samurai manga and anime franchises, while featuring new playable characters and a co-op mode. Robinson also told Polygon that the storyline will focus on the character Kuma, who, in the anime series, was introduced in Season 1.
