While we can't get our hands on Fallout 4 just yet, Bethesda have a nice surprise to keep us going until then! Bethesda Game Studios chief, Todd Howard, announced Fallout Shelter, a brand new mobile game!
Fallout Shelter lets you craft your very own vault, casting you in the shoes of an Overseer who must do whatever he can to keep his vault dwellers happy. Playing like a mix of XCOM and SimCity, you can tell that Fallout Shelter will be a truly addictive title!
Each of your dwellers will have a full set of stats that tell you what jobs they'll be best at, something you'll need to take into account if you want your vault to run smoothly. They have items, weapons and outfits which will come in handy when exploring the wasteland for supplies, or protecting the vault from raider attacks.
You'll need to keep an eye on your resources as having the right balance of food, water and power will be key to survival and happy dwellers. You can train your dwellers in all manner of things and you'll even have the joys task of naming all the babies that pop up from time to time!
Fallout Shelter is a completely free game, with no paywalls and no need for an internet connection while coming in at a rather light 200mb and requires iOS 7.0 or later in order to run. It's compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch while being optimised for the iPhone 5, 6 and 6 Plus.
No news on an Android version as of yet but news of that is apparently coming soon.
