Microsoft kicked things off at their E3 press conference by showing off a huge amount of Halo 5 gameplay footage. Starting with a glimpse into their campaign mode.
We saw Spartan Locke in action with his personal squad hunting down Master Chief, who is of course no stranger to being hunted and therefore adept at painting that one step ahead of Locke, Buck and their companions.
While catching a glimpse of Covenant and Promethian enemies was a treat to behold, its the new Spartan abilities that piqued my interest the most, from the air boost to a good old fashioned ground pound. The most notable fresh addition however was that of the squad commands. Using Lockes husky tones to boss other Spartans around will not only allow for more tactics on the battlefield, but I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun!
Oh, and did I mention the Plasma Caster?
The Halo 5 campaign can be played single-player or co-op for up to four players, with each assuming the role of a Spartan. (Trailer below)
It didn't end there however, although I'm sure many of us would have been more than happy with just that glorious visual treat!
Microsoft then went on to unveil Warzone, a new Halo 5 multiplayer mode that accommodates up to 24 players! Madness I hear you cry? I agree!
Based on the brief moments we saw at E3, Warzone sees two teams of players fight against each other, with computer-controlled enemies thrown into the mix on huge maps. Ground and air vehicles, mechs and all sorts of carnage was on show with maps supposedly coming in at roughly 4 times the size of any previous Halo map! Impressive right?
Watch the Warzone reveal in the video below!
Hows that for a slice of fried (space)gold eh?
